Feed Your Mind, Grow Your Business

You would never expect your car to run without gas.

If you’re like some folks, even with high gas prices, you still prefer a certain brand of gas because you believe your car runs better with that brand.

Likewise, whatever we put in our minds is the fuel that makes us run.

The TV shows we watch, the magazines and books we read are not harmless entertainment. They help program our minds and lead to our actions.

Who are your frequent friends and acquaintances? They, too, influence your actions and progress. Someone once said that if you want to know how you’re doing, look at the people closest to you. They are a mirror of you.

If you’re not happy with the progress your business is making, take stock of what you’re watching, reading and who you are spending time with. Are you taking in informative, inspiring, uplifting and positive ideas that will keep you encouraged, boost your confidence and give you strategies that will help your business grow?

Here are a few suggestions that have helped many others.

1. Visit informative and uplifting websites. Sign up for free newsletters when available. Some of my favorites are

  • www.yudkin.com/marketing.htm  –Marketing made affordable

  • www.marketingprofs.com/index.asp  – Marketing know-how from professionals and professors
  • www.mannersthatsell.com – Check your business etiquette

2. Visit Blogs, Message Boards and Forums

3. Read great books

The One Minute Millionaire by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen
